The life you have now is a result of the habits you have developed. If you want to change your life, and experience massive results, then you must start with your habits. It takes 21 days for a habit to form. In the space of a month, you can be on your way to a whole new life. Here’s how to do it.
1. Decide what you want.
As with any journey you take, you must have a destination. Otherwise, you will wander around aimlessly, forever spinning your wheels, and getting nothing accomplished. Now you’re probably thinking, “This is the oldest advice in the book. I already know this!”
But what you may not know is that most people are doing this step wrong. They think about what they want and stop right there. The problem is that this leaves you in a state of want. Your brain keeps you “wanting” your desires but it never looks for ways to accomplish the goal.
You must take it further and visualize yourself achieving what you want. That way, when your mind realizes a discrepancy between what you have, and what you see yourself having, your subconscious will work to make the vision a reality.
Once you have your vision, focus on it each morning to start your day, and each night before you go to bed. Make it come to life. Get all your senses involved. Don’t just see your future – step into it. Visualize the way your house will smell, feel the texture of your new car, experience the feel of slipping into your new pool on a hot summer day. The more you can make your vision come alive, the more your mind will accept it as being a part of your future.
2. Find someone who has achieved what you want and learn from them.
You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You can bypass all the rookie mistakes and shave years off your learning curve by finding a successful person in your industry and studying their business model. Whether you find this person to work with one-on-one, or simply follow them via email or social media, discovering mentors and following their lead is the fastest way to succeed.
3. Do something every day to move you forward.
The universe rewards those who take action, not those who simply think about doing something. To create change in your life, you must start moving forward. Look at your schedule for the next 30 days. Determine when you will work toward your goal. Mark that time off on your calendar. Create a boundary that you will not allow anyone to disturb. Guard this time as if your life depended on it – because it does. You will never step into the vision you have created for your future unless you make it a priority. Do it now. Don’t wait another day.
As the old Chinese proverb states, the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Creating massive results is not difficult – it just requires that you work as much on your mindset as you do on the goals you are looking to achieve.
